Description

The Martin Standard Series 000-42 is a striking 000 acoustic that combines alluring curves with beautiful decorative appointments, and thanks to Martin’s tonewood choices, it delivers a sweet sound with a surprising amount of projection.

Over 185 years, Martin’s original and most discernible models have largely remained intact and unchanged, demonstrating the winning formula that they established almost two centuries ago. For 2025, they’ve introduced a sweeping wave of updates to elevate the sound, playability, and aesthetics of these cornerstone guitars, from Golden Era bracing to subtle neck & heel improvements.

The Luxurious Strummer

The ornate design and flash of the 42 Series adds panache to the classic tone of East Indian rosewood back and sides, a Spruce X-braced top, and hand-fit dovetail neck joint. Open geared tuners, antique white binding, polished gloss finish and abalone pearl top inlay offers exquisite style with complex tone. Short scale and a sleek modified low-oval neck with narrow taper mean strumming and picking for hours in comfort and bliss.

Golden Era Design

The 000-14 Fret body features Martin’s Golden Era (GE) scalloped X bracing, giving the 000-42 richly enhanced sustain and a robust structure that’ll last a lifetime. Enjoy a more comfortable playing experience with the modernised GE bridge, boasting smoother curves and subtler edges.

A longer diamond neck transition, a thinner fingerboard with beveled edges, and a sleeker vintage heel are the cherries on top, offering subtle aesthetic enhancements without taking away from the 000-42’s vintage roots.
