Be the master of your big valve amp. The JHS Pedals Little Black Box lets you tap into your saturated tube tone at a fraction of the volume you’d usually need. Without the help of the Little Black Box, you’d have to crank your amp’s volume to force a natural-sounding gain.

Simply put the Little Black Box in your amp’s series effects loop and turn the single volume dial to your liking. This adjusts the amount of signal sent to your amp’s power section. Your neighbours and family will really appreciate what the Little Black Box can do!

Thanks to its tiny profile, you can squeeze the Little Black Box into any setup. Be it sitting on top of the amp or in a pedalboard, its rugged build is capable of taking anything you throw at it.

Key Features

  • Run it in your effects loop to turn down a turned-up amp
  • Retain the response and tone of your amp’s sweet spot at lower levels
  • High-grade components keep your tone clear and pure
  • Passive design doesn’t require any power
  • Can easily be mounted underneath your board

Please Note: Attempting to place the Little Black Amp Box between the power section of your amp and your speakers will result in damage to your gear. Place it in a series FX loop only. Do not use with a parallel FX loop, it will not produce the intended effect.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Amp

An amp is an amplifier used to boost the signal from a guitar and shape its overall tone and volume. It plays a major role in how a guitar sounds, influencing everything from clean clarity to natural overdrive and distortion, and is a core part of any guitar setup for both practice and live performance.

Black

Black instruments and gear offer a timeless, understated look that fits almost any style of music or setup. Whether it’s a guitar, pedal or accessory, a black finish is often chosen for its clean appearance, practicality and stage-ready feel. If you prefer gear that looks focused, professional and never goes out of fashion, black options deliver a classic aesthetic with no distractions.

Pedals

Pedals are compact effects units placed between a guitar and an amplifier to shape, enhance, or transform your sound. They cover everything from drive and distortion to modulation, delay, reverb, and dynamics, allowing players to build a personalised tone and respond creatively to different musical styles and playing situations.

Volume

Volume controls the overall output level of a signal, determining how loud the sound is sent to an amplifier, speaker, or audio system. It affects the final signal level without directly changing the tonal character of the sound.

In guitar and audio equipment, volume is used to balance levels between instruments, pedals, and channels, and to control dynamics in live and recording environments. Adjusting volume can also influence how other components respond, particularly in analogue circuits where level affects feel and interaction.
