Scott Ian is best known as the rhythm guitarist and co-founder of the thrash metal band Anthrax, one of the big four thrash metal bands that established the genre. The influential musician has been playing Jackson guitars almost exclusively his entire career, and has been a signature Jackson artist since 2010. The King V "Baldini" is Scott's most prized guitar — created to pay tribute to his late friend and well-known metal guitar virtuoso Dimebag Darrell.

The Jackson X Series Scott Ian KVX King V "Baldini" is a more affordable version of Scott's treasured instrument, which offers a 24.75" scale length, Nyatoh body draped in an elegant Flamed Maple top, and a through-body Maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint. The 12"-16" compound radius Rosewood fingerboard features 22 jumbo frets and pearloid block inlays, while its versatile voice is powered by a pair of Jackson high-output humbucking pickups. This signature axe also sports a Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo, Jackson die-cast tuners and a pointed 6-in-line-headstock.

Key Features

  • Nyatoh Body — This tonewood promises rich mid-range and tight lows; playing perfect host for the powerful pickups.
  • Maple Neck with Graphite Reinforcement — A traditional timber known for boosting top-end attack, reinforced with graphite to keep the neck incredibly stable for rock-solid tuning.
  • Neck-Through Construction — Promises piano-like sustain and enables easy access to the highest frets.
  • 24.75" Scale Length — This Gibson-inspired scale provides slinky playability, perfect for expressive leads.
  • 12-16" Compound Radius Rosewood Fingerboard — Dark and silky material that's rounded at the lower end of the neck to make chords easier to fret, and flattens out the higher you go so that fast passages are much easier to play. Also prevents notes from "choking" when performing string bends.
  • 22 Jumbo Frets — Large size offers a controllable feel for wide vibrato, with large white pearloid block inlays making it easy to know where you are on the fingerboard!
  • Jackson High-Output Humbuckers — Emulate Scott Ian's iconic high-gain tones with ease via these potent-sounding pickups!
  • Floyd Rose 1500 Series Locking Tremolo — Dip and dive-bomb to your heart's content without losing tune. Recessed design allows you to pull up on the bar to raise the pitch too, as well as create choatic "flutter" effects!

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.
