Spring reverb is still found in a lot of high-end amps but few people would probably think to go out and pick up a dedicated spring reverb pedal – if you love classic surf sounds and want a reverb that'll add just the right amount of watery space to your tone, check out the Drip Spring!

With three simple controls, you have a multitude of old-school ambient sounds at your disposal. The dwell control determines the length of the reverb tail, so you can go from short droplets to lengthy echoes and everything in between. The tone control gives you the option of a dark, textural reverb sound or a bright twang, similar to that classic '60s spring tone. The mix control, as you might expect, then allows you to blend the reverb signal with your dry signal as much or as little as you like!

Here's what TC Electronic have to say about the Drip Spring Reverb:

The best way to spice up your dry guitar sound with some distinctive character and depth is a good spring reverb.

A homage to one of music's most recognizable reverb effects, Drip Spring Reverb instantly takes your tone back to the good old days of amp reverb, to the iconic California surf scene and countless classic blues recordings.

Not to mention iconic instrumental bands such as The Shadows and The Ventures, who built their sound on those classic reverberated guitar tones.

Quite simply, spring reverb was so ubiquitous on classic recordings that it has become a quintessential part of the sound of the electric guitar.

The Important stuff

Guitar FX — Guitar effects pedals add character, texture, and personality to your sound. From subtle ambience and reverb to heavy distortion or experimental modulation, effects shape how your guitar interacts with the world. A good setup starts with the basics like overdrive, delay, and chorus, then expands into creative territory with fuzz, phaser, or looper pedals. Whether you want vintage tones or modern soundscapes, experimenting with different combinations will help you discover your own signature style.. Reverb — Reverb (short for reverberation) is an audio effect that simulates the natural reflections of sound in a physical space. When you play in a room, hall, or cathedral, the sound waves bounce off the walls, ceiling, and floor, creating a sense of depth and ambience. Reverb pedals and processors recreate this effect electronically, allowing guitarists and producers to shape how “big” or “live” their sound feels. From short, springy echoes that mimic vintage amp tanks to lush, atmospheric washes used in ambient or shoegaze music, reverb adds dimension and realism — turning a dry, flat tone into something immersive and expressive.. Spring.
