The Alvarez Artist Parlour is an acoustic built to the highest quality and optimised for precise, focused sound.

After 50 years of making guitars, the American-based company have packed all their knowledge into building the finest solid top instruments in the world today.

Body and neck

High quality materials and clever design result in a reliable, well-balanced guitar. The all-Mahogany body and neck combination produces a mids-heavy, punchy and warm tone.

At the forefront of design is its FST2 X bracing, meaning the X is closer to the sound hole. So more energy and vibrations are harnessed through the woods of the guitar. A Rosewood fingerboard adds to the great tone and smooth playability.

Alvarez have also been conscious of the gloss finish. They’ve kept the coating over the body as thin as possible to keep the sound lively whilst offering protection from wear.

Hardware

The Artist series uses the excellent LR Baggs StagePro EQ and Element pickup to provide clear and versatile amplifier capabilities. When playing at larger venues, the LR Baggs system provides optimal tone transfer into an amp discreetly. And there are no obvious appearance changes, as the pickup and EQ are placed discreetly to not spoil the classy look of the instrument.

It gets the best out of its components too. The real bone nut adds plenty of sustain and reliability. It kills all fret buzz so the projected sound is as smooth as ever. Solid premium diecast tuners keep tuning stable in tandem with the nut.

The bridge is made of Rosewood to match the neck and allow for comfortable hand placement over extended periods of time.

The Parlour Design

Originally invented as a low-cost alternative to larger guitars, Parlour models were extremely popular in the late 1800’s early 1900’s, as it meant more people could afford a guitar. Nowadays, these compact guitars are loved by musicians that spend their time on the road, or just don’t have the space for a larger bodied acoustic.

Combining modern manufacture techniques with unique tonewood treatments, Alvarez Parlour acoustics tick all of the boxes that put the Parlour design on the map. A slim, compact body shape, 12th-fret neck-joint, and a concise but articulate acoustic sound.

Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Electro-Acoustic Guitars

Electro-acoustic guitars combine the natural sound and feel of an acoustic guitar with built-in electronics for amplification. Fitted with pickups and preamp controls, they allow you to plug directly into an amp, PA system, or recording setup while retaining an acoustic character. They’re ideal for live performance, rehearsal, and home recording, offering volume control and tonal adjustment without relying solely on microphones. Electro-acoustic guitars suit players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility to play amplified when needed.

Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Electro-Acoustic

Electro-acoustic guitars are acoustic instruments fitted with built-in pickups or microphones that allow them to be amplified or connected directly to a PA system or amplifier. They retain the natural acoustic tone and feel of a traditional acoustic guitar while adding the convenience of onboard electronics.

They are commonly used for live performance and recording, especially in situations where consistent volume and clarity are needed. Electro-acoustic guitars often include controls for volume and tone, and sometimes built-in tuners, making them a practical choice for gigging musicians who want an acoustic sound with modern flexibility.

Parlour

Parlour guitars are small-bodied acoustic guitars that originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, designed for intimate, indoor playing rather than large rooms or stages. Their compact size makes them comfortable to hold and easy to play, with a focused sound that prioritises clarity and balance over volume.

Tonally, parlour guitars are known for a clear midrange, quick response, and a slightly woody or boxy character. They work particularly well for fingerstyle, blues, folk, and early roots music, and are often chosen by players who value detail, dynamics, and a vintage feel, especially for home playing and recording.
