The Alvarez Artist LJ2 is an acoustic built to the highest quality and optimised for precise, powerful sound.

After 50 years of making guitars, the American-based company have packed all their knowledge into building the finest solid top instruments in the world today.

They’ve made the LJ2, which stands for little jumbo, to fill the needs of guitarists who want a smaller guitar to travel with or use round the house but has the same boomy jumbo shape properties.

Body and neck

High quality materials and clever design result in a reliable, well-balanced guitar. The combination of solid Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany body and neck produce a lively, punchy and warm tone.

At the forefront of design is its FST2 X bracing, meaning the X is closer to the sound hole. So more energy and vibrations are harnessed through the woods of the guitar. A Rosewood fingerboard adds to the great tone and smooth playability.

Alvarez have also been conscious of the gloss finish. They’ve used a 50/50 gloss and satin finish on the neck, so you get the best of both worlds. And over the body they’ve kept it as thin as possible to keep the sound lively whilst offering protection from wear.

Hardware

The real bone nut adds plenty of sustain and reliability. It kills all fret buzz so the projected sound is as smooth as ever. Solid premium diecast tuners keeps tuning stable in tandem with the nut.

The bridge is made of a bi-level Rosewood to match the neck and allow for comfortable hand placement over extended periods of time.

The Jumbo Design

Along with Dreadnought, Parlour and OM shapes, the Jumbo acoustic guitar is one of the most popular designs on the market and has been for quite some time. The largest member of the acoustic family, Jumbo acoustics are known for their weighty bass response and pronounced curves.

Combining modern manufacture techniques with unique tonewood treatments, Alvarez Jumbo acoustics are exactly as you might expect; big in their looks, bigger in their sound. A wider, lower bout and a relatively slim middle results in an alluring set of curves, with the body often going a little deeper than other models. This delivers a sound that’s loud, warm and perfectly suited to hard-hitters.
