What’s more, this preamp accommodates rigs ranging from plug-and-play simplicity to sprawling pedalboard with its dual FX loops, DI Main and DI Parallel XLR outputs, twin TS outs, aux input, and headphone jack with dedicated level control. With the DSM Humboldt Simplifier Bass Master on your board, you can rest assured that your bass rig will be ready to thrive in any sonic situation.

Key Features

  • Versatile Tones – 3 preamp voices to explore: Clean, Comp, and Hot.
  • Flexible EQ and Gain – Shape your tone with the Bass Masters 4-band EQ section with Bass, Treble, Lo Mid, and Hi Mid knobs as well as its Drive Mode with gain control, taking your signal from subtle saturation to crushing grit and grind.
  • Cab Sim – 3 lifelike cabinet simulation flavours to explore: 1 x 15”, 8x 10”, 4 x 10” with powerful cab sim controls allowing you to dial in the cab’s degree of porting, level of the tweeter, and the style of speaker (Warm, Bright, and Modern).

Three Preamp Voices

Every element of the Simplifier Bass Master is engineered for the utmost sonic versatility, beginning with Clean, Comp, and Hot preamp flavours. From classic funk to modern grind, these preamps do it all with ease — especially when you factor in the harmonic-rich, dirty sounds introduced by the preamp’s Drive Mode and onboard gain control. Finally, obsessive tone-tweaking bassists champion the Simplifier Bass Master preamp for its sweeping collection of tone-shaping features, comprising a 4-band EQ and a parallel signal mix with 500Hz/100Hz/bypass settings. Combined with the preamp’s three voices, these tools ensure that you’ll have the tones you need to tackle even the most disparate setlists, all within a form factor that sits right on your pedalboard.

Comprehensive Cab Sim

The Simplifier Bass Master packs a seriously robust cab sim section at the end of the signal chain, granting you an ultra-accurate trio of sims and all the tonal tools you require to shape them to your taste. It all starts with a 3-way size switch with options for 1 x 15-inch, 8 x 10-inch, and 4 x 10-inch cab sims. Even on their own, these simulations supply you with a sweeping range of tones to explore. Yet, the Bass Master ups the ante even further with its ability to customise the amount of porting on the baffle from punchy sealed sounds to airier open textures. A flexible speaker switch seals the deal, putting three distinctive speaker variations at your command: Warm, Bright, and Modern.

Effects Integration

No matter how complicated your effects setup is, the Simplifier Bass Master preamp is happy to oblige with its exceptionally flexible and full-featured connectivity. This pedal’s dual FX loop consists of a pre-FX loop and a main FX loop, with the former giving you the power to assign it to the preamp, the parallel signal chain, or both paths at the same time. This allows you to inject different effects into each side of the Bass Master preamp’s parallel paths without the need for extra splitter cables. In addition, this preamp sports both a Main and a Parallel XLR output — this allows you to easily send two distinct signals to your cab, a separate subwoofer, or to FOH, or into your audio interface. And for those who prefer to practice plugged in, the Simplifier Bass Master preamp’s headphone out and auxiliary input make it a breeze to silently sharpen your chops in any situation.
