Building on the success of their acclaimed American Vintage and Original ranges, Fender's revamped American Vintage II Series takes things up a notch! Comprising dozens of remarkably precise recreations of timeless Fender designs, these guitars are built with period-accurate bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes, and meticulously-voiced, year-specific pickups. The American Vintage II Series painstakingly pays tribute to the revolutionary instruments that altered the course of popular music forever, with each model capturing the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone.

The Telecaster Custom marked one of Fender's earliest forays into the use of humbucking pickups. The Tele Custom featured a 3-way toggle located on the upper bout and dual volume and tone controls mounted to a stylish, elongated pickguard. The American Vintage II 1977 Telecaster Custom reproduces the quintessential tone and feel of the original, down to every last detail!

Featuring a unique pickup configuration that comprises a Wide-Range humbucker in the neck position and a Pure Vintage '77 single-coil in the bridge — the Vintage II Tele Custom is a flexible workhorse guitar capable of many spellbinding sounds! Its effortless to play too, with a slim '77 "C"-shaped Maple neck, 7.25"-radius fingerboard and vintage tall frets. It's also outfitted with a convenient "Bullet" style truss rod, 3-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt mechanism, "F"-stamped tuners and a 6-saddle Tele bridge.

Key Features

  • Wide-Range CuNiFe Neck Humbucker — Delivers a rich bell-like tone with full bass and clear treble; offering "hi-fi" clarity yet never losing attack and definition, no matter how hard it's pushed!
  • Pure Vintage '77 Bridge Single-Coil — Provides iconic Tele "twang"; the perfect counterpoint to the warmth of the neck humbucker.
  • 3-Bolt Neck Plate with Micro-Tilt — The CBS era is famously infamous for tinkering with Leo Fender's formulas, with the 3-bolt neck joint a hallmark of '70s Fender instruments. The Micro-Tilt mechanism allows you to easily tweak the angle of the neck in relation of the guitar's body, to achieve optimal string action.
  • "C"-Shaped Maple Neck — A lean, time-honoured neck profile that's synonymous with '70s Fenders. It plays like a dream!
  • Bone Nut — Traditional, low-friction material minimises unwanted tuning slips.
  • 6-Saddle Tele Bridge — Individual saddles allow for precise action and intonation adjustment. A chrome bridge cover is included, if you love that retro aesthetic!
  • Vintage-Style Case — A rugged black hard case is included, offering excellent protection. It features a bright orange interior too!
  • Made in Corona, California — All American Vintage II guitars are constructed in Fender's main California factory; the beating heart of Fender craftsmanship.
