The ES-339 is one of many iconic guitars in Gibson's ES range. Its ergonomic body shape is adored by players seeking an open semi-hollow sound in a manageable size. The stunning figured top just puts the icing on the cake.

Construction

One of the signature elements of the ES-339 is its elegant, slim semi-hollow body. Allowing you to achieve bright and open sounds with plenty of natural acoustic-like volume, the 3-ply maple and poplar construction delivers plenty of vibrancy and top-end definition.

The Gibson ES-339's body is paired with a quarter sawn mahogany neck, topped with a rosewood fingerboard for a silky feel under the fingers. The neck has a comfortable rounded ‘C’ profile, feeling substantial in hand without stronger rounded shoulders. In the hardware department, the Gibson ES-339 comes installed with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece to provide super stable tuning and intonation.

Sound

A double-dose of medium-output 57 Classic humbucking pickups give this instrument a gorgeously warm tone. More responsive to your playing dynamics, these pickups lend themselves to expressive players. Although semi-hollow guitars are more synonymous with clean tone jazz players, through distortion the 57 Classics sound raunchy and bold. They're not just one trick ponies by any means.
