In celebration of 50 years of building guitars in America’s legendary ‘Music City’, Gibson is proud to present this limited edition Les Paul Music City Special 50th Anniversary commemorative electric guitar. Available in Ebony, Wine Red and Tobacco sunburst, this anniversary model is limited to only 650 instruments worldwide in each colour.

Inspired by one of Gibson’s more overlooked models, the Marauder (along with a tasteful sprinkling of influence from the previous Gibson Music City model), this Les Paul Music City Special packs a punch thanks to its resonant, lightweight Poplar body and Maple neck. Its sleek, contoured Les Paul body shape, in conjunction with its effortless Slim Taper neck profile, ensures this guitar is a dream to play no matter what you throw at it. Under the hood, it features a duo of powerful ‘70s Tribute humbuckers and thanks to its Grover Mini-Rotomatic tuners and Gibson Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, this guitar is built to be played!

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.
