The Ibanez Prestige series combines cutting-edge manufacturing techniques with world-renowned Japanese craftsmanship and precision. Bolstering this stellar lineup is the AZ2204N, a traditionally-tweaked version of the acclaimed AZ model that Ibanez introduced back in 2018.

With an incredible feature-set comprising Seymour Duncan Fortuna pickups, a Roasted Maple neck, stainless steel frets, Luminlay side dots, Gotoh locking tuners and a genuine bone nut — the Ibanez AZ2204N is the ideal instrument for virtuosos looking for superb tonal versatility and sublime playing performance in equal measure.

Balanced Alder Body

Alder is regarded as one of the most balanced-sounding guitar tonewoods around, which is why Ibanez has used this material to construct the body of its AZ2204N model. With bright upper mid-range qualities, enriched resonance and singing sustain — this plays the perfect host for the flexible H/S/S pickup configuration.

Ergonomic Construction

A shallow belly-cut and a deeply-carved forearm contour makes the AZ2204N's body sit naturally against you; increasing playing comfort for any scenario. The elegant AZ shape also has a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve, making it easier to play in both standing or sitting positions.

Roasted Maple Neck

Many modern high-end guitars are fitted with rock-solid Roasted Maple necks, and the AZ2204N is no exception. Via Ibanez's 'S-TECH' special roasted treatment, this process removes all of the natural moisture retained by the neck wood which ultimately darkens the material and makes it far less vulnerable to warping when exposed to varying climates — ensuring incredible stability.

The neck has also been shaped to the unique 'Oval C' profile exclusive to the Ibanez AZ series, which is sealed with an oil finish that helps it feel similar to a well-played, aged guitar neck.

Stainless Steel Frets

Fitted with hard-wearing and corrosion-resistant stainless steel frets, their wide/tall jumbo design provides maximum control under the fingers for effortless vibrato and pitch-perfect string bends — enhanced with the smooth Prestige fret edge treatment.

Seymour Duncan Fortuna Pickups

Newly-designed for the Ibanez AZ series, Seymour Duncan's highly-flexible Fortuna pickups project a moderate output and a natural clean voicing, which accurately reflects your subtle playing nuances. From treble to bass, the overall tonal balance is evenly adjusted and works well with various effects pedals.

dyna-MIX9 Switching System

To get the most out of the beautifully-voiced pickups, the ingenious dyna-MIX9 switching system offers nine sonic variation. Please read more for images, details and to place an order.

About Ibanez

We have new and used Ibanez gear available on our website for fast direct delivery direct to you from across sellers in all areas of the USA & UK.

The Hoshino Gakki company began in 1908 as the musical instrument sales division of the Hoshino Shoten, a bookstore chain. Hoshino Gakki decided in 1935 to make Spanish-style acoustic guitars, at first using the “Ibanez Salvador” brand name in honor of Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, and later simply “Ibanez”.

In the 1970s, the Nisshin Onpa company who owned the Maxon brand name, developed and began selling a series of effect pedals in Japan. Hoshino Gakki licensed these for sale using the name Ibanez outside Japan. These two companies eventually began doing less and less business together until Nisshin Onpa ceased manufacturing the TS-9 reissue for Hoshino Gakki in 2002.
