The Ibanez SA series is an established part of Ibanez's lineup. Popular for their excellent quality and affordability, these instruments are perfect for the intermediate guitar player looking to upgrade from their first instrument, or for an experienced player looking for a versatile guitar that won't break the bank. With a gorgeous Flamed Maple top and an H/S/S pickup configuration, this guitar has classy aesthetics and versatile tones.

Construction

The SA260FM-TGB's Mahogany body will give you plenty of low-end thump and a warm mid-range, whilst still having plenty of top-end sizzle thanks to the brightness of its Maple neck. Adorned with a stunning Flamed Maple top, you can be sure that this instrument will get plenty of attention on stage.

The neck has a comfortable profile, with Ibanez's signature thin feel. However, it isn't too slim like the Wizard neck carves, meaning you can play chords without feeling any fatigue or strain. Topped with a Jatoba fretboard, this premium wood will feel sleek and smooth under the fingers, letting you play fast, technical solos without hindrance.

Electronics and Hardware

An H/S/S pickup configuration will always give you great versatility, offering a number of tonal options. With the potent-sounding Quantum bridge humbucker able to deal with high doses of gain, it can also clean up nicely when you roll down the volume control. The Resolution single-coils are perfect for clean tones, with that S-style spank and sparkle.

The Ibanez T102 synchronised tremolo will let you add gentle warbles to chords for some extra vibe, or you could even use it for divebombs on lead lines just like Satriani!

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About S Style Electric Guitars

S style electric guitars are known for their comfortable contours, versatile tones, and expressive playability. Typically featuring a double-cutaway body and a vibrato bridge, they offer easy access to higher frets and a naturally balanced feel whether standing or seated. Their pickup configurations often favour clarity and articulation, making them well suited to clean sounds, edge-of-breakup tones, and expressive lead playing, while still handling heavier styles with the right setup. S style guitars are valued for their responsiveness to touch and dynamics, making them a popular choice for players who want an instrument that feels fluid, familiar, and adaptable across a wide range of music.
