Adrian Smith's shred-tastic yet melodic style has been a huge part of Iron Maiden's unique and highly-influential metal sound. Graced with his own signature Jackson guitar, Smith's San Dimas is the epitome of an '80s superstrat with its ultra-fast neck, jumbo frets, compound radius fingerboard, high-output DiMarzio/Samarium pickups and Floyd Rose Original tremolo system.

Classic Construction

A trusted tonewood combination has been used to construct the Jackson Adrian Smith San Dimas SDM. The pairing of an Alder body with a Maple neck ensures a balanced sound with plenty of mid-range attack and high-end clarity – ideal for anything rock and metal!

Ultra-Fast Neck

The neck is arguably the most important feature of any guitar when it comes to feel. And fortunately, the USA Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas features a neck so playable that you'll feel practically no hindrance when attempting lightning-fast scale runs like the man himself!

With a thin profile, the Adrian Smith San Dimas' neck is exceptionally elegant and sports a hand-rubbed urethane finish for a quick and slippery feel. The neck also comes fitted with 22 jumbo-sized frets for controllable vibrato and string bending techniques, and boasts a 12" to 16" compound radius fingerboard that flattens out the higher you ascend. Graphite reinforcement rods are installed along the neck for extra stability too, keeping your tuning well in check.

Versatile DiMarzio/Samarium Pickups

A combination of DiMarzio and Samarium pickups give this metal workhorse guitar a potent voice. With a Super Distortion DP100 bridge humbucker and a pair of Samarium Cobalt Noiseless single-coils, this versatile configuration delivers the perfect blend of power and tonal possibilities. Expect boosted mids, focused lows and vibrant highs from the bridge pickup, with the noise-free single-coils projecting that signature Strat snap.

Stuff About Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.
