Inspired by the octafuzz tones from the golden era of guitar music, the Octaurus ltd is not looking to emulate but rather build on this rich lineage while claiming its place as one of the finest examples of the genre out there. Identifying Jam Pedal’s favourite behavioural attributes scattered across many different legendary octafuzzes of the past, thier mission was to find a way to bring them all together in a single standalone device.

Key Features

  • A clear apparent octave across all pickup positions.
  • Retain your notes’ “body” all the way across your guitar’s register
  • When you clean it up using your guitar’s volume knob, get just the right amount of the ring-mod type effect while still being able to play most double stops and have the fundamental intervals pop out.
  • Overdrive-like definition of open power-chords without compromising tightness or girth.
  • Full range voicing option for a singing fuzz quality
  • Scooped-mids option for more industrial fuzz feel, suitable for tight riffing and an even more pronounced octave effect.
  • Symmetrical clipping option for tightness and definition
  • Asymmetrical clipping option for looser, more dynamic feel

It is a tour de force of vintage sound and feel.

The intricate turret-based point-to-point construction is designed around a batch of early 60s NOS silicon transistors either made by Transitron or General Instrument or both, similar to 2N335/336, complementing the Octaurus ltd’s unique tonal character.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Fuzz

Fuzz is one of the earliest and most distinctive guitar effects, known for its thick, gritty, and saturated tone that completely transforms your sound. It works by heavily clipping the audio signal, producing a raw, almost broken distortion that defined the sound of the ’60s and ’70s rock era. Classic pedals like the Fuzz Face and Big Muff became legendary for their roaring sustain and rich harmonic texture. Modern fuzz pedals range from vintage-style warmth to wild, synth-like chaos, making them perfect for players who want to add character, attitude, and a touch of chaos to their tone.

Pedal

Pedals are the tools that let you shape, colour and transform your sound, from subtle tone enhancement to bold, creative effects. Whether you are adding grit, space, movement or control, a pedal becomes part of your playing rather than just an add-on. Exploring different pedals is about discovering what responds to your touch and helps your sound feel more like your own.

Pedals

Pedals are compact effects units placed between a guitar and an amplifier to shape, enhance, or transform your sound. They cover everything from drive and distortion to modulation, delay, reverb, and dynamics, allowing players to build a personalised tone and respond creatively to different musical styles and playing situations.
