The MXR Dyna Comp Deluxe is the expanded version of the popular Dyna Comp compression pedal. With the addition of Clean and Tone knobs as well as an Attack switch, the Dyna Comp Deluxe has a far broader tonal palette.

Versatile Controls

The Deluxe model retains the Output and Sensitivity control from the original which adjusts the volume (Output) and the sustain (Sensitivity). As many have proven with the original Dyna Comp, these two simple controls have plenty of sound shaping ability.

However, the new additions on the Deluxe take your ability to control your sound even further. The Clean control gives you the option to blend in your uncompressed tone, perfect if you're looking for lighter compression and a more natural sound. The Tone control is a fairly self-explanatory addition which simply allows you to make EQ adjustments and the Attack switch gives you the option to switch between slow and fast attack times.

The MXR Dyna Comp Deluxe is an impressively versatile compressor capable of anything from pronounced, percussive squash to lightly compressed, natural sounds.

Here's What MXR Dyna Comp Deluxe Compressor

The Dyna Comp Deluxe Compressor brings unprecedented control to the most iconic compression sound in the history of effects pedals. The original Dyna Comp Compressor has always been more than a utilitarian effect—guitar players have used its percussive tonality to enliven their tones for years. The Dyna Comp Deluxe Compressor’s circuitry and updated control interface delivers that classic sound along with the ability to shape it and season it to your taste. First, this pedal is built around the same CA3080 “metal can” integrated circuit that’s integral to the vintage performance of the script Dyna Comp Compressor and its quieter operation, greater transparency, and increased dynamic range. Next, the Clean control lets you blend your unaffected signal with the compressed signal so that you can find the balance that works for you, and the Tone control allows for further refinement of the compressed signal. Use the Attack switch to toggle between a vintage style slow attack time and a modern style fast attack time. Finally, the familiar Output and Sensitivity knobs control volume level and the length of sustain respectively. The Dyna Comp Deluxe Compressor gives you all you need to make this classic effect support the sound of your rig, from squishy ’70s compression to the open, transparent “light touch” compression favored by many modern players.

Stuff About Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

The Important stuff

Comp. Compressor — A compressor evens out the dynamics of a guitar signal by reducing the difference between loud and quiet notes. It adds sustain, tightens the overall sound, and can enhance clarity and consistency, making it especially useful for clean playing, funk rhythms, and smooth lead tones.. Deluxe.
