The PRS CE 24 was originally introduced all the way back in 1988 as a way of delivering the traditional snappy bolt-on tone from a PRS guitar. The CE 24 follows in its Custom 24 counterpart’s footsteps with a double-cutaway design, dual humbuckers, 24 frets and a mahogany body topped with a beautiful maple cap.

Key Features

  • Pattern Thin – Comfortable and ergonomic the PRS Pattern Thin neck shape still feels like home however in a thinner package for an even more rapid feeling neck profile.
  • Phase III Tuners – The perfect blend of vintage aesthetic and modern design. Utalising unplated brass shafts for unparalleled tonal transfer as well as precision gear ratios for effortless tuning the Phase III tuners are possibly the most thought-out guitar tuners.
  • Patented Tremolo Gen III – The most recent incarnation of the famed PRS Tremolo System. Meticulously designed with improved string vibration transfer for an even more defined and bigger tone with improved tuning stability.

Bolt-On Design

From the front, the CE 24 looks like any other core PRS. Figured maple top, bird inlays and a set of durable PRS hardware exactly as you would expect on a Custom 24. However, under the hood are a few changes that makes this a completely different tone machine. It’s mahogany body delivers warm characteristics with loads of midrange which perfectly works alongside the bolt on construction and Maple top which adds brightness, clarity and articulation to the tone.

85/15 Pickups

85/15 humbuckers are incredible pickups found all the way through the PRS range, right to the upper echelons of the Custom 24 series. Highly versatile and powerful, the CE24 pair gains an extra top-end bite from the bolt-on neck – ideal for hard rock and metal. That’s not all, as these vintage-voiced pickups roll back for edge of breakup tones without the intense saturation.

More info about this Product

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Solid Body Electric Guitars

Solid body electric guitars are built from a solid piece or pieces of wood, giving them excellent sustain, stability, and resistance to feedback at higher volumes. This construction makes them well suited to amplified playing across a wide range of styles, from clean and articulate tones to heavy, high-gain sounds. Their design allows pickups and hardware to play a major role in shaping tone, while the solid body provides a consistent, reliable feel. Solid body electric guitars are valued for their durability, versatility, and ability to perform confidently on stage and in the studio.
