Sire basses have become best-sellers worldwide, and for good reason. Collaboratively designed with bass virtuoso Marcus Miller, Sire instruments are acclaimed for their beauty, luxurious playability, impeccable build quality, premium features and relative affordability. Able to keep up with the demands of professional working musicians, Sire basses outclass almost anything in their price bracket.

The M7 is one of Sire's most popular offerings, distinctive for its ultra-modern shape and forward-thinking features. Boasting a raft of best-in-class hardware and electronic appointments, the woods used for this instrument are also key to its high-end feel and sound; not to mention its stunning aesthetics! Now available as a 6 string bass; extended range players can enjoy the unbelievable feel and sound of the Sire M7.

Modern Construction

The foundation of the Sire M7 6-string bass is its Alder body. Used on some of the earliest electric guitars and basses that came to market, you can expect a fairly neutral tone with slightly accentuated upper mids. A Maple top adds more top-end sparkle, ensuring the M7’s tonal response is crystal-clear and able to penetrate through any mix; even with the low B string.

The M7's C-shaped neck is made from 5 pieces of wood, predominantly Maple. This layered design increases stability and makes the neck far less susceptible to warping, which is especially important for a 6-string bass that has so much string tension. Thanks to the largely Maple neck, you can expect crisp and responsive tones with plenty of sustain to boot.

Powerful Pickups

Sire basses are known for emitting sounds that far outweigh their modest price-points, and the M7 6-string is no exception. Marcus Pure Humbucker Advanced active pickups deliver a thick and powerful sound, projecting plenty of low-end and a meaty mid-range.

Want to go for more of a passive pickup sound? No problem, just use the toggle switch to flick between active and passive modes, and use the two additional switches to engage/disengage the front and rear pickups.

Flexible Preamp

Couple the versatile humbucking pickups with Sire’s incredible Heritage-3 preamp system, and you’ve got unprecedented control over your sound. This includes a sweepable middle frequency control for finding the instrument's tonal sweet-spot, akin to the flexible EQ you'd find on a high-end mixing console! But even with this sophisticated built-in preamp, the M7’s core sound is unmistakably clear and aggressive.

High-End Hardware

Additional appointments include Sire’s Premium Open Gear tuners and their popular Heavy Mass Standard bridge. The latter is based on Miller’s favoured jazz-style bridge, and its extra-chunky saddles offer a rich tone with excellent tuning accuracy, sustain and strength.

Version 2 Updated

This 'Version 2 Updated' model gets yet another needed redesign; the square block saddles have been switched out for rounded block saddles. This means enhanced playing comfort, especially when muting or using a pick!

Stuff About Bass Guitars

Bass guitars form the backbone of a band’s sound, sitting between rhythm and harmony to give music depth, weight, and movement. Available in electric and acoustic forms, they focus on delivering strong, controlled low frequencies while remaining clear and responsive to playing dynamics. Factors like scale length, string type, and pickup design all influence tone and feel, allowing bass guitars to suit a wide range of styles and techniques. Whether laying down solid grooves or exploring more melodic lines, a good bass guitar anchors the music and brings everything together.

Stuff About Electric Bass Guitars

Electric bass guitars provide the low-end foundation that supports rhythm, harmony, and groove within a band. Designed for clarity, punch, and control, they translate string vibration into a focused, amplified signal that locks in with drums and drives the music forward. Different scale lengths, pickup configurations, and electronics influence feel and tone, from deep, rounded lows to tight, articulate attack. Whether used for simple supportive lines or more expressive playing, electric bass guitars are essential for shaping the feel and energy of a track.
