The 400 Series offers the most accessible presentation of solid rosewood/spruce guitars in the Taylor line. This year, these guitars have been updated with a new aesthetic package that elevates their visual character to match their stage-worthy sound.

A new tobacco sunburst top gives these models a rich, refined-rustic vibe that complements the tonal warmth and lush overtone response of the Rosewood/Spruce wood pairing, supercharged by V-Class bracing under the hood. New aesthetic details include an agoya shell rosette and an elegant “Finial” inlay design in Italian acrylic that evokes flourishes found in carpentry and architecture.

Key Features

  • Rosewood/Spruce Tonewood Combo – This all-new, Grand Concert acoustic-electric 412CE boasts all-solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, a Sitka Spruce top, and V-Class bracing for enhanced volume, sustain and pitch harmony up the neck. Players will hear warm lows, pristine highs, and a slightly scooped midrange, all tied together with richly textured harmonics.
  • Compact Body Shape – Delivers a notably articulate, clean sound that will be especially enticing to fingerstyle players and anyone interested in recording applications.
  • Tobacco Sunburst Top – Headlines this model’s appointment package, along with a new inlay design in Italian acrylic called Finial, inspired by classical flourishes in carpentry and architecture. Other details include white binding, black and white top purfling, single-ring agoya shell rosette, gloss-finish body, nickel tuners and a faux tortoiseshell pickguard.
  • ES2 Electronics – The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before.
  • Hardshell Case – Comes with a deluxe brown hardshell case to keep your guitar safe from impacts.

The Important stuff

Acoustic Guitars — Acoustic guitars are timeless instruments known for their natural tone, warmth, and versatility. Using a hollow wooden body to amplify the sound of vibrating strings, they produce a rich and resonant voice that suits everything from gentle fingerpicking to lively strumming. Favoured by singer-songwriters, folk musicians, and performers across countless genres, acoustic guitars are valued for their simplicity and expressiveness. Available in various body shapes such as dreadnought, concert, and parlour, each offers a unique tonal character and feel. Whether played around a campfire or on stage, acoustic guitars continue to connect people through their pure, organic sound.. Electro-Acoustic — An electro-acoustic guitar is an acoustic guitar fitted with built-in electronics, allowing it to be plugged into an amplifier or PA system without losing its natural tone. It’s ideal for live performance, recording, or busking, as it captures the warmth and resonance of an acoustic while offering the volume and control of an electric. Most feature piezo pickups or internal microphones, often paired with onboard EQ controls for tone shaping. Electro-acoustics come in a wide range of body shapes and wood types, giving players the same feel and character as a traditional acoustic with added versatility and convenience.. Sunburst — Sunburst refers to a classic guitar finish that fades from a darker edge to a lighter centre, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood beneath. It’s one of the most recognisable and timeless looks in guitar design, adding depth, warmth, and vintage character to any instrument. Available in styles like two-tone, three-tone, and cherry sunburst, each variation brings its own personality and flair. Whether on an acoustic or electric guitar, a sunburst finish captures that perfect blend of tradition and style, making every instrument look as good as it sounds.. Tobacco.
