Boasting superior craftsmanship, top-tier tonewoods and a bevvy of design innovations, the Gold Label 714e introduces the world to a new kind of Taylor sound. This model features a new body shape we’ve called the Super Auditorium, a slightly larger version of our famous Grand Auditorium shape that yields impressive power with a heritage-inspired warmth and richness that will entice traditionalists and contemporary ears alike.

Key Features

  • Torrefied Body Top – Taylor’s torrefying (roasting) process, in essence, seasons the wood to vintage perfection. With additional overtones and resonance as well as a played-in warmth that you’d only expect to find on a guitar that’s at least 30 years old.
  • Indian Rosewood – The tonewood superstar. Popular, traditional, and versatile, Bob Taylor puts Indian rosewood among the greatest tonewoods ever.
  • LR Baggs Element VTC Electronics – The onboard pickup and preamp give a superior warmth and natural balance of tone, heightening the overall sound.
  • Action Control Neck – The Taylor Action Control Neck combines the superior tone of a long-tenon joint with their previous neck micro-adjustability, resulting in a neck with enhanced acoustic tone and resonance, along with effortless adjustability.

Super Auditorium Body Design

The Indian Rosewood back and sides are paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top, delivering exceptionally well-rounded acoustic tone with powerful lows and crystal-like highs. Its jumbo size provides added depth as well as the signature blooming overtones associated with Rosewood acoustics. Inside, a new iteration of Taylor’s V-Class bracing dials up longer sustain, greater volume and near-perfect pitch accuracy all the way up the neck. A new long-tenon neck joint improves overall resonance and sonic transfer, also providing super-precise adjustability whenever the need arises.

Appointments include a Curve Wing bridge in Honduran rosewood with matching bridge pins, cream-coloured binding and a matching single-ring rosette, Crest inlays, our newly modified headstock shape, a firestripe pickguard, and a full-body gloss finish. It ships with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics and a deluxe hardshell case with a British Cocoa exterior.

V-Class Bracing

Taylor’s revolutionary V-shaped bracing pattern allows the soundboard of the guitar to resonate and flex naturally without any of the resistance found in more traditional bracing patterns. The guitar becomes louder and fuller with increased sustain and the notes along the fingerboard intonate better and generally sound more in tune with each other. The carefully thought-out design strikes the perfect balance of enough stiffness to remain stable and the perfect amount of flex for a powerful and harmonically rich sound.

L.R. Baggs Element VTC Electronics

Multi-band compression has long been a secret of mastering rooms worldwide to unlock the warmth and natural dynamics of recorded instruments. The Element VTC’s all-discrete, Class A preamp leverages this studio elixir with a proprietary analog compressor that operates below 400Hz. The compressor is tuned to reflect the actual dynamics of the acoustic guitar, creating in live performance the superior warmth and natural balance of tone achieved in professionally studio-mastered sound. Includes soundhole-mounted volume and treble tone controls.

Stuff About Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Stuff About Electro-Acoustic Guitars

Electro-acoustic guitars combine the natural sound and feel of an acoustic guitar with built-in electronics for amplification. Fitted with pickups and preamp controls, they allow you to plug directly into an amp, PA system, or recording setup while retaining an acoustic character. They’re ideal for live performance, rehearsal, and home recording, offering volume control and tonal adjustment without relying solely on microphones. Electro-acoustic guitars suit players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility to play amplified when needed.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

The Important stuff

Natural — Natural guitars showcase the beauty of the wood itself, with finishes that highlight the grain, colour, and character of each piece. Favoured by players who appreciate simplicity and authenticity, natural finishes let the instrument’s craftsmanship and tonewoods speak for themselves. Whether it’s the warm glow of mahogany or the bright shimmer of maple, a natural guitar has a timeless, organic look that never goes out of style. These instruments often feel more connected to their acoustic roots, offering both visual elegance and a sense of purity that appeals to musicians across all genres..
