Perfect for the pragmatic bass player. The TC Electronic BQ250 is the lightest bass head you will ever carry. And it’ll still deliver massive punchy tones.

Weighing in at 2.3kg, the BQ250 micro head has been designed with portability clearly at the forefront. Take it from practice, to studio and to the stage in your backpack with no hassle at all. It’s roadworthy too thanks to an impressive 250W inside its rugged steel casing.

Four-band EQ

Just because it’s small doesn’t mean it hasn’t got the quality to match bigger beasts. the BQ250 packs Class-D amplifier technology controlled over a four-band EQ; bass, lo-mid, hi-mid and treble. An added thrust knob brings in the Mosfet preamp compressor circuit that sets the dynamic range. This can take your tone to the next level by emulating real tube power.

The passive/active switch optimises the preamp input for either active or passive pickups. You’ll get the best tonal response whatever bass you’re playing.

Practicality

Beyond it’s size, TC Electronic have added some handy features to make this one of the most simple amps to plug in and play. A DI output lets you hook the BQ250 up to the front of house for the most stress free gig setups ever. There’s also an aux slot in the back and speaker emulation to plug headphones in for quiet practising.

Amp Heads

An amp head contains the core tone and power of a guitar amplifier without the built-in speakers, allowing you to pair it with the cabinet of your choice. This setup offers greater flexibility over sound and volume, as different speaker cabinets can dramatically change the feel and character of the amp. Amp heads are available in valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, ranging from low-wattage studio models to high-powered touring rigs. They’re ideal for players who want a modular setup, precise control over their tone, and the ability to adapt their rig to different venues, cabinets, or recording situations.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Guitar Amp Head

Guitar amp heads contain the main tone-shaping and power section of an amplifier, designed to be paired with a separate speaker cabinet. They let you choose different cabinets to suit your sound and setup, offering flexibility for home, studio or live use. If you want control over volume, tone and character without being tied to a single combo format, amp heads give you a modular way to build the rig that works best for you.
