For years, guitarists have asked Victory: “Which amp nails that legendary Cornford MK50 vibe?” Well, here’s the answer — and it’s a big one! The MK Overdrive is the brainchild of Martin Kidd himself, the man behind that iconic MK50 design. This isn’t just a nod to the past; it’s Martin’s ultimate vision of what an overdrive amp should be.

Hand-built in England, no compromises

Every MK Overdrive is crafted with the finest components, meticulous attention to detail and zero shortcuts. Martin personally inspects and signs off every single amp before it leaves the factory. That’s how you know it’s the real deal.

The ultimate overdrive amp?

Absolutely. The MK Overdrive is designed for players who live for gain but still want flexibility. The Clean channel has its own gain control, plus presence and resonance knobs for fine-tuning. There’s even a Voice switch to add extra upper mids when you want that sparkle. Loads of headroom, pedal-friendly and ready to roar.

Two versatile channels

  • Clean channel: Big, bold and perfect for pedals.
  • Overdrive channel: Two gain modes — Gain 1 for crunchy rhythm tones, Gain 2 for full-fat, saturated drive.

What’s in the box?

  • A padded slip cover to keep that gorgeous Muirhead leather pristine.
  • Plus, a certificate of authenticity signed by Martin Kidd himself. Nice touch, right?

Key Features

  • Separate EQ controls: Why settle for one-size-fits-all tone shaping? The MK Overdrive gives you independent EQ sections for both the Clean and Overdrive channels, so you can dial in sparkling cleans with plenty of chime, then switch to a raunchy overdrive with its own perfectly sculpted bass, middle and treble.
  • Resonance & presence controls: Both channels have their own resonance and presence knobs. That means you can make the amp feel tighter and punchier, or looser and more open. On the Overdrive channel, the presence control is a lifesaver for taming highs or adding extra bite when you need to cut through the mix.
  • Clean & overdrive voice controls: Each channel also has its own Voice switch for extra flexibility. On the Clean channel, flicking the switch adds upper mids for a more forward, articulate sound. On the Overdrive channel, it works across both gain modes, adding brightness and a touch more gain in position two.
  • Ultimate footswitch control: Victory didn’t just throw in a footswitch — they designed a custom four-button beast that gives you total command. Switch channels, toggle between Gain 1 and Gain 2, activate the volume boost, and control the FX loop.

Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.
