Based on years of collaboration and friendship between PRS and guitar virtuoso, David Grissom, the PRS SE DGT was developed with David’s deep appreciation, love and knowledge of vintage guitars in mind. The limited edition SE Exotic DGT pushes things even further with the addition of an eye-catching Laurel Burl top and finished in a stunning McCarty Tobacco Burst finish.

Key Features

  • PRS Patented Tremolo – One of the designs that helped put PRS on the map back in the ‘80s! The perfect balance of comfort, tuning stability and tonal transfer.
  • PRS Tuners – Lightweight in construction for maximum tonal impact, geared for precision, accuracy and reliability even under the pressures of continuous performance.
  • DGT Profile – Crafted to Davids exact specs, the PRS DGT neck profile offers a fast yet comfortable neck profile that feels full without being chunky.

DGT “S” Pickups

Paul Reed Smith and David Grissom compared over 40 pairs of humbucking pickups before eventually dialling in their vintage-inspired DGT set. They have the vintage tone and unrivalled articulation and dynamics that are found on the most desirable humbuckers ever manufactured but with a slight ‘Texas’ twang for good measure! They’re perfect for both lead and rhythm tones and special attention was given to really nailing the tapped single-coil sound.

PRS Quality

Paul Reed Smith are known for making some of the highest quality, best finished and most thought-over guitars ever produced. No stone is left unturned in Paul’s quest to deliver the best-feeling instruments and the most desirable guitar tones. Using the same foundations, designs and guitar-building techniques the PRS SE is no exception to this rule. Built with the intention of offering the highest quality guitar at an affordable price, the SE series provides players with the perfect foundations to play, learn and develop their guitar journey.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars use magnetic pickups to convert string vibration into an electrical signal, allowing the sound to be shaped through amplifiers and effects. Key things to understand include body shape, pickup type, neck profile, scale length and bridge design, as these all affect tone, feel and sustain. They are used across almost every modern genre, from clean and expressive to high-gain and aggressive styles, making them one of the most versatile instruments available.

Burst

A burst finish refers to a guitar finish where the colour gradually fades from a darker outer edge to a lighter centre. This technique highlights the natural grain of the wood while giving the instrument depth and visual character, making each guitar look slightly different.

Common on both electric and acoustic guitars, burst finishes range from classic sunburst styles to modern colour variations. They are popular because they combine a traditional look with a visually striking appearance that complements the shape and craftsmanship of the guitar.
