Here’s what Epiphone say about the Hummingbird Pro

Classic Epiphone acoustics go PRO with Fishman and Shadow pickups

Epiphone is proud to reintroduce three of its most popular acoustic guitars–the Epiphone Hummingbird, The Dove, and the EL-00 have all gone PRO and now feature unbeatable pickup systems from Fishman and Shadow, bringing these historic Rock & Roll and Blues icons into the 21st century. Introducing the Epiphone Hummingbird, The Dove, and the EL-00 Acoustic/Electric PROs.

Hummingbird PRO Acoustic/Electric First introduced in 1960, the square shouldered Hummingbird quickly became a classic thanks to Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, who used a Hummingbird for rhythm on early Stones hits like “Satisfaction,” “Play With Fire,” and “Under My Thumb.” Now with the Shadow ePerformer preamp and Shadow NanoFlex pickup system, The Hummingbird PRO can plug-in and hold its own on any size stage.

The Hummingbird PRO Acoustic/Electric features a solid spruce top. Spruce is a rich and complex tonewood that begins to breathe and improve with age. The more you play, the better it sounds! The body and neck are made from select mahogany. The Hummingbird PRO neck has a classic SlimTaper D profile and features a 25.5″ scale and is attached to the body with a glued-in dovetail joint. The rosewood fingerboard has pearloid parallelogram inlays, 20 medium frets, a 12″ radius, and a 1.68″ nut. There is single ply white binding on the fingerboard and 5-ply white & black binding on the body top while the back of the body has single ply white binding. The Hummingbird PRO has the classic sloped dovewing headstock with the “Epiphone” logo in white.

The Hummingbird PRO Acoustic/Electric’s reverse belly rosewood bridge has a compensated saddle for smooth action and intonation. The Shadow NanoFlex pickup system, voiced especially for the solid spruce top and mahogany body, is under the saddle and the classic Hummingbird/flower tortoise shell style pickguard is easy to spot on stage or across a room.

Shadow ePerformer Pickup System

The Hummingbird PRO is just one of many Epiphone guitars that feature a cutting edge pickup system that can handle any size gig and still produce an “acoustic” sound. The Hummingbir
