Alvarez AD60CE Key Features

  • Mahogany body with solid Sitka Spruce top
  • Pau Ferro fretboard
  • FST2 X bracing for improved resonance
  • 50/50 gloss/satin finish for comfort and durability
  • LR Baggs Element pickup
  • LR Baggs StagePro EQ

Body and neck

Quality materials and clever design result in a reliable, well-balanced bass guitar. The combination of solid Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany body and neck produce a lively, punchy and warm tone.

At the forefront of design is its FST2 X bracing, meaning the X is closer to the sound hole. So more energy and vibrations are harnessed through the woods of the guitar. The bi-level Pau Ferro fingerboard adds to the great tone and smooth playability.

Alvarez have also been conscious of the gloss finish. They’ve used a 50/50 gloss and satin finish on the neck, so you get the best of both worlds. And over the body, they’ve kept it as thin as possible to keep the sound lively whilst offering protection from wear.

Hardware

The Artist 60 uses the excellent LR Baggs StagePro EQ and Element pickup to provide clear and versatile amplifier capabilities. When playing at larger venues, the LR Baggs system provides optimal tone transfer into an amp discreetly. And there are no obvious appearance changes, as the pickup and EQ are placed discreetly to not spoil the classy look of the instrument.

It gets the best out of its components too. The real bone nut adds plenty of sustain and reliability. It kills all fret buzz so the projected sound is as smooth as ever. Solid premium die-cast tuners keep tuning stable in tandem with the nut. The bridge is made of a bi-level Pau Ferro to match the neck and allow for comfortable hand placement over extended periods of time.

The Dreadnought Design

No acoustic range is complete without a Dreadnought. Famed for their rich tones and booming projection, Dreadnoughts remain among the most popular types of acoustic guitars in the world.

Featuring large bodies often with a square-shouldered design, Dreadnoughts offer some of the richest acoustic tones going, with a hefty low-end and plenty of midrange clarity. Combining modern manufacture techniques with unique tonewood treatments, Alvarez Dreadnoughts are guaranteed to provide the full-bodied, resonant tone you’re after.

Stuff About Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Stuff About Electro-Acoustic Guitars

Electro-acoustic guitars combine the natural sound and feel of an acoustic guitar with built-in electronics for amplification. Fitted with pickups and preamp controls, they allow you to plug directly into an amp, PA system, or recording setup while retaining an acoustic character. They’re ideal for live performance, rehearsal, and home recording, offering volume control and tonal adjustment without relying solely on microphones. Electro-acoustic guitars suit players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility to play amplified when needed.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

The Important stuff

Dreadnought — A dreadnought is a large-bodied acoustic guitar known for its powerful projection and strong low-end response. It delivers a full, bold sound with plenty of volume, making it well suited to strumming, flatpicking, and playing in band settings where clarity and punch are important.. Natural — Natural guitars showcase the beauty of the wood itself, with finishes that highlight the grain, colour, and character of each piece. Favoured by players who appreciate simplicity and authenticity, natural finishes let the instrument’s craftsmanship and tonewoods speak for themselves. Whether it’s the warm glow of mahogany or the bright shimmer of maple, a natural guitar has a timeless, organic look that never goes out of style. These instruments often feel more connected to their acoustic roots, offering both visual elegance and a sense of purity that appeals to musicians across all genres..
