Description

Modern guitar players who love high-gain amp tones need tight low frequencies that punch you in the gut and react quickly to staccato palm muting. They also require high frequencies that can cut through the mix, without being harsh and grainy, as well as effective mid-range shaping with glorious harmonic complexity and precise articulation. Finally, contemporary hard rock and metal musicians yearn for blistering gain with none of the noise. The Bad Cat Lynx is designed to meet and exceed all of these specific demands.

The Lynx has two distinct channels and a massive 7 gain stages. A new Lo/Hi switch also allows for exploration of gain stage topology not yet found in any other amplifier from Bad Cat. It's a ferocious beast!

Bad Cat on the Lynx Combo:

"True story: The very first visitor to the Bad Cat booth at NAMM '22 wanted to try a Lynx. Nobody had ever heard our new amps before. We plugged him into it, and he chugged blissfully through a 4×12". The guy loved it. Then he asked 'Does it come as a combo? That’s what I need.' Facepalm."

"We hadn't intended to offer the Lynx in a combo format since players looking for high-gain amps often choose heads, but this past year we've had a significant number of requests for it. We like to give people what they want, so we're happy to announce the introduction of our new Lynx 1×12" combo."

"The amp itself is identical to the head. We just fine-tuned the cab's rear panel to match the Lynx's voicing. It's the same size as our other combos, covered in carbon weave vinyl and loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30. As with the head, it sounds monstrous. Incredible amounts of gain, but never sloppy or unbalanced. Dynamics, string definition and harmonic richness are all part of the Bad Cat signature, so of course they're all there too. It's an amp that'll handle any size gig and still fit in the back of a small car. Finally, as with all Bad Cats, the Master Volume does what it should so you can play really quietly at home without the tone falling apart."
