Faith Naked models have the very soul of the guitar exposed for all to hear and experience. Each instrument is beautiful in its simplicity and unadorned with cosmetic additions, and as such, it is more accessible to players of all levels.

The importance of body shape

Inspired by Patrick James Eggle’s original ‘Saluda’ body design, the Neptune is categorised as a ‘baby-jumbo’ model. Measuring 16 inches across the lower bout, it’s somewhat more compact than a traditional 17-inch jumbo, yet it preserves much of the powerful sound and commanding presence associated with larger models. Presented here without a cutaway, the Neptune stands out as a robust, full-bodied instrument.

Which tonewoods are used and why?

The Naked Neptune features an Engelmann Spruce top and Indonesian Mahogany back and sides, both crafted from all-solid wood and finished with a soft satin sheen. The satin finish’s significant advantage lies in its ability to allow the all-solid tonewood to move and resonate more freely, unburdened by excessive layers of lacquer. This grants the guitar an exciting and continuously dynamic tone, with the body proudly displaying the marks of every musical endeavour.

How does it all come together?

The Spruce and Mahogany combo has long been a favoured acoustic guitar recipe, and for good reason too. The sonic and visual brightness of the Spruce is tamed a little by the more mellow, softwood tones of the mahogany. True to its ‘Naked’ name, all the woods used are left to show their original colours and grain patterns.

As with all Naked models, the Neptune is equipped with a figured Ebony Fingerboard, Bridge and Bridge Pins.

The Gigbag

Your new Faith Naked is supplied complete with a padded gigbag with handles, backstraps and an accessory pocket. And, when the need arises you can upgrade to a hardcase for extra protection.

Stuff About Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Stuff About Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Stuff About Steel String Acoustic Guitars

Steel string acoustic guitars are known for their bright, clear tone and strong projection, making them a popular choice for strumming, fingerpicking, and songwriting. Using steel strings gives them more tension and volume than classical guitars, resulting in a sound that cuts through well whether played solo or alongside other instruments. They come in a range of body shapes and sizes, each influencing balance, resonance, and comfort. From delicate fingerstyle passages to powerful rhythm playing, steel string acoustics are versatile instruments that respond well to dynamics and playing style, both at home and on stage.
