Gibson’s Hummingbird has been embraced by some of the world’s most famous guitarists spanning several genres of music. The key to its success is versatility. From folk to rock, country to blues. It can do it all. Fingerpicking, big open chord strumming, capos; the Hummingbird tackles anything.

This version in particular has a Rosewood back & sides complete with all the tonal characteristics of a regular Hummingbird but has a slightly fuller bass response due to the Tonewoods.

Construction

Gibson have stuck with the classic pairing of a mahogany back and sides and Sitka spruce top, know for their rich, all-encompassing character when combined for dreadnought body acoustics. You’ll get beautiful warmth from the mahogany, with the spruce adding crisp projection.

50s Neck Profile

The Hummingbird has a ’50s style rounded neck profile, which gives you plenty to anchor down when fretting the Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The 24.75-inch scale length gives the Hummingbird Standard a snappy sweetness and responsiveness and makes it a little faster in transition across the fretboard.

Electronics

The Hummingbird comes loaded with the award-winning LR Baggs VTC soundhole pickup system, lauded for its ability to re-produce the voicing of a studio mic’d acoustic. You’ll have stunning projection and accuracy, further adding to this guitar’s incredible versatility.
