Guitars Pedals Amps & Stuff are excited this week as the almighty Marshall DSL100HR Amplifier Head is now back in stock. These are built to an exceptionally high standard. The Dual Super Lead amps have long been a staple of the Marshall range, since launching in the '90s to great critical acclaim. Known for their ultra-versatile sound as well as their surprising proficieny with high-gain sounds, they eventually came to be hailed as a modern classic. Now Marshall have unveiled the latest generation of DSLs – offering everything you loved about the originals but with several tweaks aimed at the modern player!

Those familiar with the DSL legacy will know that the 100-watt head version is the boss of the bunch! Delivering the truly iconic Marshall bright cleans and punchy driven tones (a-la JCM800) in a more affordable head with modern features has proved itself to be an incredibly popular formula. It's only fitting then that Marshall have brought it back to life as part of their 2018 range!

As with the other models, you've got two channels at your disposal: classic gain and ultra gain, both of which do exactly what they say on the tin! The classic gain is warm but clear, and extremely responsive to adjustments, whereas the ultra gain allows you to tip into that full-pelt Marshall distortion that's so widely adored. This model, however, introduces presense and resonance controls, as well as two separate master volume controls, providing you with full tonal tweakability; tame the Marshall drive to suit your own style, or use them to push your cleans into uncharted twangy territory!

You've also got the same Softube-designed emulated output, which allows top-class cab simulation for direct-out recording. You can even disconnect the 12" speaker or switch the amp to standby for fully silent recording or practicing!

From classic valve amplifiers to modern digital models, Marshall continues to embody the spirit of rock’n’roll—loud, bold, and timeless.

The Important stuff

Amplifier. Guitar Amps and Cabs — Guitar amps and cabs are at the heart of your tone, shaping everything from crisp clean sounds to heavy distortion. Combo amps combine the speaker and amplifier in one portable unit, ideal for rehearsals and small gigs, while separate amp heads and cabinets offer more power and flexibility for stage use. Valve amps deliver classic warmth and dynamic response, while solid-state and modelling amps provide reliable performance and a wide range of tones. Guitar cabinets, from compact 1x12s to full 4×12 stacks, influence projection and character, so matching the right amp and cab setup is key to getting your perfect sound..
