The Marshall JTM45 is absolutely stunning recreation of one of the world’s most legendary amplifiers. If your idea of the best tone was in the 60’s or 70’s rock realm this is most likely one of the amps used to create that tone. With beautiful cleans and warm, smooth overdrives the 2245 JTM45 is about as old school as it gets.

Smooth Overdrive With A Hint Of Classic Fuzz

Back in the 1960’s amplifiers didn’t really overdrive that much. Every so often someone would manage to get a great tone with a slight bit of drive but nothing like this. By running channel 1 in to channel 2 using a jumper patch cable you go from a single channel of cleans to a beautifully smooth overdrive that has some classic fuzzy character in there.

Classic Simplicity

This amp was before the days of multi channels amps with different EQ’s and voices to perfectly match. No this is a simple amp with presence, bass, middle, treble controls shared between the two channels and independent volume controls for each channel that lets you dial in the tone in your head.

Here’s what Marshall say about the Vintage Reissue 2245 JTM45

The very first Marshall amp, made back in 1962, was the JTM45. It was an instant hit and launched a whole new generation of groundbreaking guitar players and sounds. Since then, connoisseurs of tone have sought out rare original JTM45s from the ’60s. Now they shall seek no more, thanks to this meticulously accurate re-issue.
It was GZ34 rectification that was the key to the JTM45’s sound, and this is a feature painstakingly reproduced in this re-issue. The way the rectifier interacts with the other valves causes subtle harmonics to shift and smoulder beneath every note, producing the unmistakable, original, and much emulated Marshall sound.
