Inspired by that legendary green overdrive, the Envy Pro Overdrive is the newest entry into the Mythos Pedals lineup. While not straying too far from what makes that original design so magical, the Envy expands the range of the controls and offers players more flexibility in getting their own sound. The Level control has been tuned for better output while the Drive control has been altered to allow for less gain at minimum and more gain at maximum. The voicing of the unit has been tuned for a slightly fuller tone.

What makes the Envy so special are the two Push Buttons, a first for Mythos. When in the up position, it’s the classic TS style sound. Engaging the LOWS push button allows you fatten up the low end for a more even sound that’s slightly less mid forward. With the CLIP button in the up position, it’s the stock Silicon Soft Clipping we all know, but when you push the button in it removes the diodes from the circuit. Removing the diodes makes the pedal much louder but also you’re getting all the character of the op amp, for a more open and dynamic sound. A far cry from the compressed clipping of the stock diodes, but the 4 different combinations this affords you allows for a wide variety of sounds.

Internally the Envy features a socketed RC4558P chip, one of the iconic chips we’ve read about in so many forums and product listings. Mythos has opted to make this socketed so the adventurous user may easily swap the chip out with any similar dual op amp and truly make this pedal their own.

Zach from Mythos is known far and wide as a fan of this circuit, we didn’t choose to reinvent the wheel but give players the best take we could on such an iconic overdrive pedal.
