Mike Soldano is a true innovator of tone! Creating the now legendary Super Lead Overdrive (SLO) 100-watt tube head back in 1987, this monstrous-sounding machine set the standard for modern high-gain amplification and remains one of the world's most sought-after amps. Renowned '80s rock guitarists including Mick Mars (Motley Crue) and Warren de Martini (Ratt) used the SLO's iconic drive channel to great effect, while the bluesy crunch channel found favour with the likes of Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore and even Lou Reed.

Slay with the SLO-Mini!

Soldano amps are properly back in business, and they've now released the SLO-Mini — an affordable, portable 30-watt head that delivers the same rich overdrive and crunch of the original SLO amp head with amazing conviction. Stuff About Amp Heads

An amp head contains the core tone and power of a guitar amplifier without the built-in speakers, allowing you to pair it with the cabinet of your choice. This setup offers greater flexibility over sound and volume, as different speaker cabinets can dramatically change the feel and character of the amp. Amp heads are available in valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, ranging from low-wattage studio models to high-powered touring rigs. They’re ideal for players who want a modular setup, precise control over their tone, and the ability to adapt their rig to different venues, cabinets, or recording situations.

Stuff About Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

The Important stuff

Guitar Amp Head — Guitar amp heads contain the main tone-shaping and power section of an amplifier, designed to be paired with a separate speaker cabinet. They let you choose different cabinets to suit your sound and setup, offering flexibility for home, studio or live use.
