Combining a modified round-shoulder dreadnought body with a classic tonewood pairing, upgraded interior voicing and a revolutionary neck design, the Gold Label 717e promises an exciting next step in the growth of our Gold Label Collection. This model boasts back and sides of solid Indian rosewood, a torrefied Sitka spruce top, and a fanned variant of our V-Class bracing design, which all come together in a Grand Pacific body that’s a full five inches deep at the soundhole—3/8″” deeper than the standard version of that body shape.

Key Features

  • Grand Pacific – This round-shoulder dreadnought delivers a new flavor of warm, rich Taylor tone.
  • Indian Rosewood – The tonewood superstar. Popular, traditional, and versatile, Bob Taylor puts Indian rosewood among the greatest tonewoods ever.
  • Action Control Neck – Building on Taylor’s legacy of easy-playing necks, the new Action Control Neck pairs a long-tenon joint for added warmth and depth with a patented system for effortless string height adjustment.
  • Sitka Spruce – The soundboard choice for most guitars, Sitka spruce produces a broad dynamic range and accommodates a versatile range of playing styles.

Grand Pacific Body Design

The modifications to the normal guitar design adds more low-end power and projection along with an exceptionally warm, round tone profile accented by rosewood’s signature blooming overtones and a dash of played-in sweetness thanks to the specially roasted top. Complementing that heritage sound is our new long-tenon Action Control Neck™, which offers enhanced coupling between the neck and body to produce more low-end warmth plus unprecedented adjustability—simply turn the interior neck bolt through the soundhole to dial in the perfect action (string height) for your playing style.

Appointments include a Curve Wing bridge in Honduran rosewood with matching bridge pins, cream-colored binding and a matching single-ring rosette, Crest inlays, our newly modified headstock shape, a firestripe pickguard, and a full-body gloss finish. It ships with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics and a deluxe hardshell case with a British Cocoa exterior.

Acoustic Guitars

Acoustic guitars produce their sound naturally through the vibration of the strings and body, offering a direct and expressive playing experience. They come in a wide range of styles, including steel string and classical designs, each with its own feel and tonal character. Body shape, wood choice, and construction all influence warmth, projection, and balance, making acoustics suitable for everything from gentle fingerstyle to confident strumming. Whether used for songwriting, practice, or performance, acoustic guitars provide a simple, honest connection between the player and the music.

Electro-Acoustic Guitars

Electro-acoustic guitars combine the natural sound and feel of an acoustic guitar with built-in electronics for amplification. Fitted with pickups and preamp controls, they allow you to plug directly into an amp, PA system, or recording setup while retaining an acoustic character. They’re ideal for live performance, rehearsal, and home recording, offering volume control and tonal adjustment without relying solely on microphones. Electro-acoustic guitars suit players who want the warmth and responsiveness of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility to play amplified when needed.

Guitars

Guitars cover a wide range of instruments designed to suit different styles, techniques, and sounds, from acoustic and classical models to solid body, semi-hollow, and hollow electric designs. Factors like body shape, scale length, neck profile, string type, and pickups all influence how a guitar feels and responds, making each type suited to different players and musical approaches. Whether used for rhythm, lead, songwriting, or experimentation, guitars are expressive, versatile instruments that form the heart of countless genres and playing styles.

Electro-Acoustic

Electro-acoustic guitars are acoustic instruments fitted with built-in pickups or microphones that allow them to be amplified or connected directly to a PA system or amplifier. They retain the natural acoustic tone and feel of a traditional acoustic guitar while adding the convenience of onboard electronics.

They are commonly used for live performance and recording, especially in situations where consistent volume and clarity are needed. Electro-acoustic guitars often include controls for volume and tone, and sometimes built-in tuners, making them a practical choice for gigging musicians who want an acoustic sound with modern flexibility.

Natural

Natural guitars showcase the beauty of the wood itself, with finishes that highlight the grain, colour, and character of each piece. Favoured by players who appreciate simplicity and authenticity, natural finishes let the instrument’s craftsmanship and tonewoods speak for themselves. Whether it’s the warm glow of mahogany or the bright shimmer of maple, a natural guitar has a timeless, organic look that never goes out of style. These instruments often feel more connected to their acoustic roots, offering both visual elegance and a sense of purity that appeals to musicians across all genres.
