Each channel also features two master gain controls along with two master volumes, allowing four different voices to be instantly recalled, either by pressing the relevant footswitch or via MIDI command.

Demonstrating its prowess as a fully comprehensive plug and play device, the MOTHERSHIP also features over 70 free custom cabinet simulations to choose from (when connected to Tsakalis’ own TAW Editor app via USB), separate dedicated simultaneous outputs for both the cabinet simulator and a “dry” output for your amp of choice, MIDI control of channel, A/B selection and bypass and also a serial mono FX loop for added tonal versatility.

Fully Featured All-Analog Real Tube Preamp Design

The MOTHERSHIP represents the perfect “amp-in-a-box” pedal, seamlessly blending a beautifully designed, real tube front end with a highly flexible cabinet modelling solution. However, it also shines as a genuine tube overdrive pedal when connected to the front of your amplifier, or when running it as the tone-defining preamp section of your setup, directly into your power amp. It can also do both of these things simultaneously.

Stuff About Guitar Pedals

Guitar pedals are compact effects units that shape and enhance a guitar’s sound, sitting between the instrument and the amplifier. They include gain pedals like overdrive and distortion, modulation effects such as chorus and tremolo, time-based effects like delay and reverb, and essential utilities including tuners, compressors and loopers. Understanding basic things such as pedal type, signal order, power requirements and intended use helps players choose pedals that suit their style, setup and playing environment.

Stuff About Preamp Pedals

Preamp pedals are designed to shape and boost a guitar’s core tone, often acting as the front end of an amplifier or as a complete amp-style sound on a pedalboard. They can add clean gain, warmth, EQ control, or amp-like drive, and are commonly used to improve signal strength, push an amp harder, or run directly into a power amp or recording interface. Understanding output level, EQ controls and how they interact with other pedals helps players use preamp pedals effectively in both live and studio setups.

The Important stuff

Cab. Channel. Dual — Dual describes gear designed with two of the same or complementary features working together, such as dual channels, dual pickups, or dual effects. This allows greater flexibility and tonal range, letting players switch or blend between sounds for different styles, settings, or playing dynamics without changing their setup.. Overdrive — Overdrive pedals add warmth, grit, and natural compression to your tone, capturing the feel of a pushed tube amp. They respond dynamically to your playing, offering everything from a light bluesy crunch to full, saturated rock tones. Perfect for boosting solos or shaping your core sound, an overdrive pedal brings character and life to any setup. Whether you prefer vintage smoothness or modern bite, these pedals are essential for players who want expressive, touch-sensitive drive with plenty of personality.. preamp — A preamp is a stage in the signal chain that boosts the guitar’s signal and shapes its core tone before it reaches the power amp or recording interface. Preamp pedals and units can add gain, EQ, and character, helping define clarity, warmth, and drive while forming the foundation of a player’s overall sound.. Tube — Tube refers to valve-based amplification or circuitry that uses vacuum tubes to amplify the guitar signal. Tube amps and tube-driven pedals are valued for their warm tone, natural compression, and smooth overdrive, responding dynamically to playing strength and volume changes for a more expressive feel..
