Here's what EBS say about the Reidmar 502:

The EBS Reidmar 502 breaks new ground as a lightweight bass amp featuring a new class D power module, co-developed by EBS that truly handles a 2-ohm load.

The EBS Reidmar 502 handles a 2-ohm load so it can drive two 4-ohm cabinets simultaneously. To our knowledge, it is the first lightweight amp in the 500W-range that truly does that. And it does it with conviction too.

Efficient power handling

Due to EBS clever developed Soft-clip design, the Reidmar 502 makes efficient use of all the power at hand. That means more punch and a lot less compressed sound than with lightweight amplifiers using automatic limiters to prevent clipping. It keeps the bass tone from sounding muddy and preserve the lows solid on higher volumes.

Analog preamp

The preamp, featuring EBS renowned built-in compressor and a 4-band EQ-section, gives you full control. Use it to bring out anything from a warm nice low end, brilliant highs and mids that cut through the mix when you need it.

Key Features

  • 2-ohm D-Class Power Amp
  • Built-in Compressor/Limiter
  • Extremely Powerful 4-band EQ
  • Effects loop
  • Character filter.
  • Balanced XLR-Out with Pre/Post EQ switch and Ground Lift.
  • Line and Headphones Out

If you prefer a compact rig, match the Reidmar 502 with a couple of EBS ClassicLine mini-size 112 cabinets, the new ClassicLine 210 or the NeoLine mini-size cabinets (for more clarity and punch).

For a more impressive look or when the gig calls for an even more powerful bass tone, you can use the Reidmar 502 with a couple 4-ohm, 410 cabinets as well. A nice, well-balanced setup, that  hits a sweet spot between power and portability is to use it with a NeoLine 210 and 212 cabinet together.

Amp Heads

An amp head contains the core tone and power of a guitar amplifier without the built-in speakers, allowing you to pair it with the cabinet of your choice. This setup offers greater flexibility over sound and volume, as different speaker cabinets can dramatically change the feel and character of the amp. Amp heads are available in valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, ranging from low-wattage studio models to high-powered touring rigs. They’re ideal for players who want a modular setup, precise control over their tone, and the ability to adapt their rig to different venues, cabinets, or recording situations.

Amps

Guitar amps cover everything needed to amplify, shape, and project your guitar sound, from small practice setups to full stage and studio rigs. In this category you’ll find combo amps, separate amp heads and speaker cabinets, covering valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, each offering a different feel and response. You’ll also see modelling and digital amps, built-in effects, footswitches, attenuation solutions, replacement speakers, valves, and essential accessories to keep an amp performing at its best. Whether you’re chasing pristine cleans, classic crunch, or modern high-gain tones, guitar amps and related gear are all about finding the right balance of power, tone, and control for the way you play.

Head

A head is an amplifier unit that contains the preamp and power amp but does not include a built-in speaker. It is designed to be used with an external speaker cabinet, allowing players to choose different cabinet and speaker combinations to shape their sound.

Amp heads are popular with guitar and bass players who want flexibility and scalability, as the same head can be paired with different cabinets for home, studio, or live use. They are commonly available in valve, solid-state, and hybrid designs, and range from compact low-watt models to powerful stage-ready amplifiers.
