The EVH 5150III Hypersonic 6L6 combo uses some seriously clever digital wizardry to nail the sound and feel of the legendary EVH 5150III 6L6 tube combo — without the hefty weight.
Faithfully modelled EVH tone
At the heart of the Hypersonic is a high-performance digital power amp that delivers the headroom and punch you’d expect from a real tube amp. Pair that with a Celestion speaker and a solid Plywood closed-back cab, and you’ve got tone, volume and dynamics that are virtually indistinguishable from the all-tube original. You’ll have to double-check it’s not really running on valves!
Lightweight design, loads of control
The best thing about this combo is that it’s way lighter than the full-fat tube version, so your back will thank you. EVH have also added concentric EQ controls for channels one and two, plus independent noise gates for each channel — because nobody likes unwanted noise.
An updated footswitch now lets you control the reverb and effects loop, making life on stage even easier. And you get a power selector for full power and five attenuated settings, plus a balanced XLR line output with impulse response (IR) cabinet simulations.
